Our Experimental Psychology summer school is the perfect opportunity for aspiring psychologists and medical professionals to discover what life is like as a student studying psychology. Aided by Oxford Royale's unique approach to learning, grow both your fundamental knowledge of the subject and discover your future passions.

Discover potential academic and career paths within this field, including clinical or educational psychology, forensic psychology, and numerous branches of research.

Understand the fundamental concepts in experimental psychology, including experimental design and the distinction between correlation and causation. Critically evaluate studies and develop insights into the complexities of human behaviour and cognition.

Take part in thought-provoking discussions, exploring psychological theories and classic studies from alternative and challenging perspectives. This encourages a balance of open-mindedness with critical evaluation preparing students for higher education.

Through collaborative learning and guidance from experts, our learners will develop the skills to articulate their thoughts clearly and engage creatively with complex psychological phenomena.

We pride ourselves on our status as the world’s most international summer school, having welcomed students from over 175 countries since our foundation in 2005. This represents an invaluable opportunity for aspiring psychologists to gain access to a global network of like-minded peers. Ambitious learners will collaborate and communicate, working together to build their subject skills, but also create a lifelong network.

With Oxford Royale, no two days are the same - we will keep learning varied and include seminars, activities, self-tests, data analysis, case studies, demonstrations and research. These are all the kinds of learning activities you would do on an undergraduate psychology degree programme, aiming to prepare our students for a successful future.

Learn how psychological principles apply to real-world scenarios, including education, health, and everyday situations. This practical engagement fosters a deeper appreciation of psychology’s impact on society and encourages students to think about how they can use their skills in various professional fields.

Our students will complete a presentation on a chosen topic, and a written research report based on an experiment students will conduct themselves, allowing students to put their knowledge into practice.

Students will dive into key concepts such as experimental design, classic studies, and explore influential theorists, combining open-mindedness with critical evaluation of psychological material.

The course encourages creative thinking about psychological phenomena and promotes an understanding of how psychology applies to everyday life, education, and health. This approach empowers students to critically engage with complex topics and real-world issues.
