English is the global language of business, politics, law, education, and more. Learning to communicate clearly and effectively in English will open doors to future success. Our summer programmes on campus at the University of Oxford provide an inspiring environment to advance your English skills.
Living and studying in an English-speaking environment is the best way to improve quickly. Whether in lessons or during activities, you’ll immerse yourself in the language, building confidence and fluency throughout the two-week programme.
Join an international community, with students from over 176 countries since 2004. Studying with like-minded learners, you’ll build friendships that last a lifetime and have the opportunity to practise your English with students at a similar level to yourself.
Our tutors are highly qualified in teaching English. They’ll help you master grammar, vocabulary, and communication skills in a supportive environment. With personalised attention and engaging lessons, your learning experience will motivate you to continue improving your English.
Our Learn English programme includes structured lessons in the morning or afternoon, led by an expert teacher. Outside of lessons you’ll also have the opportunity to go on exciting trips and take part in activities that provide hands-on experience of speaking English in real-life situations, whilst exploring British culture.
Unlike some other language schools where students stay with host families, our students live and study exclusively on campus at the colleges of Oxford University. What’s more inspiring than walking in the footsteps of some of the greatest minds who have attended Oxford University?
Our courses use the history and culture of Oxford to make learning English exciting. Studying in this famous city, you’ll learn from expert teachers who include local landmarks and traditions in your lessons. This unique experience will help you improve your English in a memorable way.
As part of the programme, students will go on an exciting day trip. 13-15-year-olds studying in Oxford will visit beautiful Bath, an historic Roman city, while 16-18-year-olds will travel to London to explore the exciting capital city of the UK. These trips include guided tours, free time to see the sights, try local food, and shop with friends.
We believe in rewarding hard work. At the end of the programme, students get to take part in a special graduation ceremony in Oxford, where they receive a certificate, and enjoy a final graduation party to celebrate with new friends.
When you join the Oxford Royale Learn English programme, you won’t stay with a host family. Instead, you’ll live right on campus at St Catherine’s College, part of the University of Oxford. This means you’ll be fully immersed in university life, staying in modern student accommodation and eating meals in the college’s dining hall.
Known as “St Catz,” St Catherine’s College combines the tradition of Oxford with a modern and welcoming atmosphere.
Founded in 1962, St Catz is one of Oxford’s newer colleges but is still steeped in history, with roots going back to 1868. Its contemporary design has earned it recognition as an architectural landmark in the UK. Explore St Catherine’s College here.
Your safety and well-being are our top priorities. While on campus, you’ll be cared for by your Programme Director and support staff who are always available to assist you. From helping with daily needs to organising activities and excursions, our team ensures that you have a secure and enjoyable stay. With staff living on campus alongside students, there is always someone nearby to offer support whenever needed.

Yes, all students will be awarded an Oxford Royale Graduation Certificate upon satisfactory completion of the programme. This will be presented in a graduation ceremony on the final evening of the programme. In general, the graduation ceremony is for students only, but in certain cases, it might be possible for parents to attend on request. Due to limited seating and viewing facilities in the colleges, it is essential that parents contact the campus office well in advance to ascertain whether space is available.
All students will be well looked after, and security is carefully monitored on campus.
In order to leave campus students are required to sign out and sign themselves back in with a counsellor, and curfews are enforced on campus. Any issues that arise can be taken up with staff.
Students will also always be accompanied during lessons, trips, and excursions.
It is certainly possible to take more than one programme and combine a variety of study programmes. This can be done by enrolling on two different programmes. For example, you may wish to have two weeks on the Film Academy and then two more weeks on Architecture.
Students staying for two consecutive sessions will be provided with accommodation for the Saturday night, and their campus will provide supervised activities between their first session ending and second session starting. Should you have any queries about how to take more than one programme please do not hesitate to contact us.
