Coming soon: Our Los Angeles Summer School. Register your interest here.
St Hilda’s College was founded in 1893 as a hall of residence of women, and remained a women’s college until 2008, making it the latest and last college to allow all genders.
The college stretches along the River Cherwell, and beautiful views of the river and Botanical Gardens can be seen from the college.
Many famous and successful alumni have graduated from St Hilda’s, including Baroness Susan Greenfield, renowned scientist and writer, Barbara Pym, author of Excellent Women, and Zanny Minton Beddoes, editor-in-chief of The Economist.
St Hilda’s is located just outside the city centre of Oxford, close to the Botanical Gardens and Magdalen Bridge.

St Hilda’s is one of the colleges in which our Oxford Summer School is hosted. Students will be accommodated in spacious and modern shared rooms, which are standard undergraduate bedrooms. Many bathrooms are en suite but some are shared between a small number of students. Male and female students will be accommodated on different corridors and/or in different staircases.
In the college, students are overseen by the Programme Director, who implements the day-to-day running of the programme. The Director is assisted by a team of Counsellors who very often are current members of the University of Oxford.
The Counsellors ensure that students are looked after pastorally, culturally and socially during their programme. Students are able to talk informally and frankly to the Counsellors in order to raise concerns or to discuss university applications.
Each campus has a few members of residential staff who live in the college throughout the programme and are able to assist students at any time of the day or night.
It is important to note that Oxford Royale is not a part of, or otherwise affiliated to, St Hilda’s College or the University of Oxford. Find out more about Oxford Royale and the University of Oxford.
